Skien International Ibsen Conference 2012 takes place at Teater Ibsen in Skien on 10 and 11 September.

Day 1 - Presentation of the winner of the International Ibsen Award 2012: Heiner Goebbels
Heiner Goebbels himself, Hans-Thies Lehmann, Tore Vagn Lid, AndrŤ Wilms and Florence de Gerken will give talks on Goebbelsí work.

Day 2 - Staging Ibsen: National institutions and theatres responsibilities in current times
The winners of Ibsen Scholarships 2012 will be presented. Winning projects are from Portugal ("Echoes from Ibsen", Causas Comuns), England ("A Do-Gooder", Just Jones), Cuba ("The Tools of Society", Willian Ruiz Morales) and Hungary ("Peer Gyntís Children", FŁggetlen SzŪnhŠz). The theatre directors Anders T. Andersen, Kjersti Horn, Anders Paulin and Eirik StubÝ will give talks on the topic of the day. Closing panel discussion led by Kai Johnsen.

Teater Ibsenís staging of John Gabriel Borkman, directed by Anders T. Andersen, and "A Filha do General", an adaptation of Ibsenís Hedda Gabler by Mutumbela Gogo, Mozambique, directed by Henning Mankell, will be performed during the conference.
